Joanne Walton, BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, PGDip Advanced Practice.

Having gained over 15 years post graduate experience in the NHS, primarily working in elderly care and rehabilitation, including specialist falls prevention services, I decided to establish Locality Physio after moving to Derbyshire with my young family.

I have extensive experience of treating patients with a diverse range of long-term medical conditions, including stroke, Parkinson’s disease and dementia, balance and vestibular disorders as well as those recovering from falls and fractures.

I have a keen interest in falls and fracture prevention and completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Advanced Practice: Osteoporosis and Falls Management, from the University of Derby in 2017.

As a member of a dedicated falls and osteoporosis service I worked alongside specialist nurses and occupational therapists and have used this experience and expert knowledge to inform Locality Physio's Falls Risk Assessment and Home Safety Check.
